Portuguese consumption slows down tourism in atypical summer
Today SIBS has released, in partnership with Turismo de Portugal, the second edition of the “Summer Destinations” infographics. Based on SIBS Analytics’ data, the index portrays the operations performed in Portugal this summer, by Portuguese and non-nationals. The global value of operations in Portugal had a 9% decrease when compared with the same period in 2019. With a foreign bank card operations drop of 48%, national consumption was supported by Portuguese consumers, whose transactions revealed a decrease of only 3%.
