The Impact of Coronavirus in Portuguese Consumption Habits – Week May 4th-10th

This week’s infographic on the impact of Coronavirus on the consumption behaviours in Portugal presents data from the first week without mandatory confinement. This latest index, concerning the period after the end of the State of Emergency in Portugal, reveals the largest increase in physical purchases since the beginning of the pandemic crisis in the country.

As the economy gradually reopens, the predominance of purchases in the MULTIBANCO Network related to Supermarkets & Grocery stores, Small food distribution, Beverages & Tobacco, Pharmacies and Drugstores has decreased, now representing 59% of all physical purchases.
